Abstract (original)
From Timmerman’s original “table on the wall”1 to HyTEC2, and whether you call it stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) or stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), hypofractionated stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT) has matured from a revolutionary treatment paradigm into a commonplace standard of care regimen for many disease sites in radiation oncology. Continual advancements in treatment planning and delivery precision and accuracy, combined with parallel innovations in on-board imaging3-5 and localization capabilities, have enabled routine high-dose-per-fraction treatments with submillimeter precision.
