During the past decade, a deepening awareness of the importance of well-being among health care professionals has coalesced.1 Yet this awakening has not occurred in a vacuum. Across the United States and the world, people are navigating unprecedented stressors: rapid technological and societal change, widened political polarization, armed conflicts, natural disasters worsened by climate change, and economic as well as social uncertainty. Against this backdrop, mental health difficulties have become a major challenge in multiple regions and population groups, and health care professionals are not immune.
